Limestone Jazz Collective Celebrates Women in Jazz!

Event Description

In honour of Women's History Month, the Limestone Jazz Collective (LJC), sponsored by the Musicians Performance Trust Fund (MPTF) and the Union of Professional Musicians AFM Local 518, proudly presents an extraordinary evening of music. This free show will pay tribute to Jazz trailblazers and be streamed LIVE!

Joining our 18-piece big band will be three femme vocalists: Savannah Shea, Jasmine Woboditsch, and Atiari.

The repertoire spans iconic music from the big band era, featuring the works of Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Julie London, and the Andrews Sisters, alongside lesser-known masterpieces by composers, bandleaders, and arrangers like Mary Lou Williams and Chelsea McBride. The program will stretch beyond jazz to include the unforgettable music of Joni Mitchell, Laura Nyro, and Linda McCartney.
