Event Description

David Newberry sings folk music with rock sensibilities. Or is it the other way around? His increasingly noisy songs provide insights into the complex contemporary social world. His music and performance draws comparisons to energetic, younger Dylan and Springsteen, but his eyes and ears are turned towards the future, constantly aiming to broaden the interpretation of what folk music “sounds like.” His brand new CD “No One Will Remember You” is already garnering rave reviews from musicians and critics alike.

Dogwood and Dahlia are Vancouver’s newest roots phenoms. Hailing from North Vancouver and White Rock, Neil Smith and Sydney Thorne’s youthful songs intertwine perfectly to create a sound that is older than its combined years.

The Great Outdoors began with the musings of Vancouver songwriter Adam Nation in 2000, but have grown to become a multi-fronted roots-rock powerhouse. Think “Crosby Stills Nash and Young,” but without Stills or Nash, and with two Neil Youngs.
