Alicia Hansen writes her songs at night. She writes her songs with a wrench and a hammer. She puts them out to sea; they sing like the metallic, groaning underbelly of a ship gliding above calm black depths. They meet a piano in the swells, churning up phosphorescence and full of industry, grit and rust. It doesn't have a glamorous name; it has cargo to deliver.
